The 2006 Lord of the Fork Race was postponed one day, but run successfully Sunday afternoon with 13 entrants. Toby McDermott won with a time of 10:32. Matt Walker finished second and James MacLeod/Adam Herzog tied for third. River level at race time was around 1300cfs.
We noticed these two guys floating downstream before the Race began. From a witness point of view, this was the scariest thing I saw all weekend. They were so close 3 times to swimming through the seiviest place in the Russell Fork gorge. Every year some yahoo shows up thinking they can get down this river unprepared...its a miracle they didn't kill themselves.
Big water on April 15, 2007. Everything was too freaking huge to run, so took a lot of pics of different streams. Hunt's Creek, Grassy Creek and Russell Fork were pretty impressive. The Russell Fork shots are at 20,000cfs or so.
