USACK Wildwater Team Trials
Trials for the US National Wildwater Team highlight the 2011 October season. The team will compete in the 2012 World Whitewater Championships. Competitors from across the country will gather October 14-16 for the two day competition. USA Canoe/Kayak, the national governing body for paddlesports competition, is sponsoring the competition with assistance from the Elkhorn City Area Heritage Council and Kentucky Sports Authority.
The trial consists of two timed events, the Classic and the Sprint. The Classic race takes place Saturday, 10/14 at 4pm. The course is from upper Carson Island to Elkhorn Beach. The Sprint races takes place Sunday, 10/15, at 11am. The race is at the Ratliff Hole River Access.

The Baddlun is an extreme triathlon that includes a 14 mile bike course, 12 mile whitewater (Class IV-V) and 2.5 mile run. Not for the squeamish! The brand new event, Baddlun-Lite, is for the casual fan. One mile bike, one mile Class II paddle, and one mile run. Starts and finishes at Elkhorn Beach at 4pm.
